ForgeLine Systems LLC ("ForgeLine," "we," "us," "our") operates Recon (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding it.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

• Account information: name, email address, phone number (optional), business/company name, role.
• Company profile information (optional, used to improve opportunity matching and proposal quality): certifications, capability summary, UEI, CAGE code, business address, year founded, employee count, past performance history, key personnel.
• Payment information: handled entirely by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not store your credit card number or full payment details on our own servers.

Information collected automatically:

• Standard server logs (IP address, timestamp, request path) for security and reliability purposes.
• We do not currently use third-party advertising or analytics tracking cookies. Authentication uses a signed session token, not a tracking cookie.

Information from public sources:

• The government procurement opportunity data displayed in Recon is aggregated from public sources (SAM.gov, state/local government procurement portals). This is public information, not personal information about you.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: (a) provide and maintain the Service, including matching you with relevant procurement opportunities; (b) process payments via Stripe; (c) send transactional communications (magic-link sign-in, password resets, account notifications) via our email provider, Resend; (d) improve the Service, including AI-assisted features described below; (e) provide customer support; (f) comply with legal obligations.

3. AI Processing

We use third-party AI models (including providers such as OpenAI and Anthropic) to classify opportunities and extract data from procurement documents. Where your company profile data is used to generate AI-assisted proposal content, that data is transmitted to the applicable AI provider solely to generate the output you requested. We do not use your company profile data to train third-party AI models beyond what is necessary to generate your requested output, and we do not sell your data to AI providers or any other third party.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:

• Service providers who help us operate the Service: Stripe (payments), Resend (transactional email), our cloud hosting infrastructure providers, and AI model providers as described in Section 3 — each bound by their own data-processing obligations.
• Legal compliance: if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of ForgeLine, our users, or the public.
• Business transfers: if ForgeLine is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy's continued protections.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations, or to resolve disputes. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time (see Section 7).

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard security practices, including encrypted password storage (bcrypt hashing), signed authentication tokens, rate limiting, and standard web security headers. No system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable, current-practice measures to protect your information.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@forgelinesystems.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and in accordance with applicable law.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for business use by adults and is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. International Users

If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer and processing.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice. The "Last Updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
